Blogging, Continued

I'm moving the blogs to Blogger for one simple reason. Money. I find myself recommending wonderful camping products to folks on FaceBook, since I am the Queen of Glamp. It occurs to me that this may as well be a remunerated endeavor. Et voila, Blogger. To date, my blogs and posts have been little more than a personal journal, with fellow campers dropping in to spy on the last camp-out. Now, I'm gong public because I have some good information to share. Hello, public!

The latest camp-out was to Malibu Beach RV Resort, a really wonderful spot! Frankly, I'm not much of an RV park type, but my little site overlooking the Malibu shoreline was to die for.  The landscaping along their trails was gorgeous and the amenities (restroom, showers, laundry) were clean and well cared for. They even have tent sites for my tenting buddies, though they are isolated far above the rest of us and cannot access their cars easily.

I took Hau'oli Hele Hale (aka: Hale the Aliner Sport) and VanGo (my Nissan NV 3500 with Sportsmobile popped top) with the intention of sleeping in the one bed inside Hale and using the van purely for storage. Halfway through the first night (Christmas), I finally gave up and grabbed my homemade sleep set and memory foam and ran into VanGo to save my life. Wind gusts up to 60mph threatened to throw my little a-frame right over the cliff. I was truly scared silly. My patio furniture was completely tossed here and there. In fact, one rug, not found until the next day, was caught in a bush down the hill. I just thank God it didn't land on a windshield of a car traveling the PCH. VanGo, on the other hand, was rock solid (top was not popped, of course) and I finally got to sleep. I never did move back into Hale, since it was nice to have a table overlooking the best view in all the land.
